As part of our way to give back to our community - we were lucky to get to be involved in a family portrait day with a local elementary school! I had such a fun day

Meet Lynn and James... these guys are the CUTEST couple!

We've had the opportunity to get to know Lynn pretty well over the past 6 months or so since she started working as the catering manager at one of our favorite venues (Firesky). She is SUCH an awesome person - I was totally honored when she asked if we would shoot their wedding in May!!

We're so lucky to now call these guys friends!

I had a BLAST shooting their pictures... we went to an old junk yard to shoot - and they were total rebels with me and were ready to get kicked out at any minute! Luckily - nobody seemed to mind we were shooting there!! :)

We all got to meet up with my boys and had a great time at Joe's Farm Grill after for a post shoot dinner! What a great night! Thanks again guys... can't WAIT for the wedding!!!!!!

OK - so I have to admit... these guys are some of my FAVORITE people to photograph! I have had the honor of shooting their family portrait every year around this time since Diego was a little boy... I shot their wedding several years back with a wonderful photographer/friend of mine, Amy Lauritsen.

Josh and Amber got married Saturday at the FARM at South Mountain!

Some cool FACTOIDS about their wedding:

The FARM is an amazing venue! It's been a couple of years since we shot there - and was so excited to have all of these fun HUGE pecan trees to play with!
Josh and Amber brew their own BEER!! YES... their OWN beer! And I have to admit - it was WAY better than any beer you can buy! I loved it!!
Josh and Amber brought Barleigh (their dog) to the wedding!!! She was amazing - she just hung out, chased an occasional bull frog -but other than that - she was just one of the crew! It was SO fun!
Josh and Amber are now in Hawaii (wish I were there too :) hehe).

We've NEVER shot a wedding at a DUDE RANCH before!! (And if you are ever wanting to go to one THIS is the one... omg, it's AMAZING!!) Flying E Ranch, Wickenburg, AZ.
Brandon (my Brandon) and Brandon (Tawni's Brandon) share the SAME middle name too! EERIE... :)
We did one of my FAVORITE shots of Tawni by a HEARSE! Yup... a hearse!

What a day!

AM - With my bugs.
I got to wake up (my boys actually let me sleep in until 7:10 this morning!!) and play with my two favorite little people! We got out the camera - I need to do that more often for my own kiddos! :) Here are a couple of cute ones...

Then - off to a super fun shoot doing some headshots for Julie! (We shot their wedding a few months back... she is so gorgeous - I had so much fun working with her today!) While I was getting some gear set up... I noticed IN the backyard, they have a bobcat with 2 little babies! She said the bobcat just pretty much lives in the neighborhood - and hangs out back there a lot! We were both super excited to see the babies! Snapped a quick pic through the glass (hence the blurriness :)... how cool is that!!!!!!!!

OK - one of my goals for the year was to shoot an amazing rock band!! So - I got in touch with Ian, the guitar player for Digital Summer - and offered to come out to shoot their May 9th show for them! One awesome guy, 2 press passes and one killer concert at Marquee Theatre later... here are some shots from their set! It was INCREDIBLE! If you haven't already heard of them or seen there stickers around the valley... give em a listen, I think you will like what you hear!

Anthony is a friend of mine that I made on FACEBOOK in our photo group PHOTO SCAVENGERS (check it out if you haven't already!!)... He asked me to shoot some professional portraits for him before he and his wife, Katherine head up to Vegas where he is taking a job at a new (for him...) church as a minister! Anthony is one of the neatest guys I have had the pleasure of meeting! I love how his shots came out... take a look and see for yourself! Can't wait to see them in December when we visit Las Vegas... he is going to renew our vows for our 10th wedding anniversary (yes... I said 10 years!! eek1!) , and I couldn't be more thrilled!! YAY!!

We met Rob and Tiffani (of the Reid Effect) at Jessica and Darin's wedding almost 3 years ago!! Rob is an amazing videographer, by the way! We've stayed friends ever since! We've seen their son grow - got the opportunity to photograph Tiffani's twin sisters wedding, and sever other family shoots along the way! So we arrived home safely late last night, from Sam & Matt's wedding extravaganza in Cancun, Mexico. It was a picturesque, quiet, amazing boutique resort on the Isla de Mujeres, just off of the coast of Cancun.

Day ONE.. The journey begins. After about 10 hours of traveling... the ferry to the Island was a welcome sight for us!

As we were waiting for the ferry, we managed to take a quick shot of us on the dock...

Day TWO... WEDDING DAY!

After all the mishaps with hair and make-up, we had about 2 minutes for Sam and Matt to meet before the wedding... this was the moment that Matt first saw Sam, it was a beautiful moment, and I just love this image! They are such a beautiful couple!

DAY THREE - A little free time!

We got to take advantage of going to swim with the dolphins!!! What an incredible once in a lifetime experience that was! WOW! We couldn't take cameras while we were actually swimming... but, we had an INCREDIBLE time, and anyone who ever has this opportunity... TAKE IT! It's incredible!!

DAY FOUR - Trashin the dress!!

We all got up early to take advantage of some incredible light and secluded beaches! Sam did some research a few months back, and found this incredible little boutiquey bar that was GORGEOUS, so we drove down there on a golf cart and got some incredible pics! It was a great time... enjoy... these are a few of my favorites!

Needless to say after shooting some of these pics... I was a bit sandy! LOL.

OK - a lot of our brides have always mentioned that they are up for a TRASH the DRESS session after the wedding, SOOOOO... here is your opportunity to take advantage!!

We are setting up a day in February to go out and have some fun with some past brides (it's even OK if we didn't shoot your wedding to join!), we even have some fellow photographers who are interested in going along, so THIS IS GONNA BE COOL!!

Well, today officially marks my beginning of a Christmas break! I have done so well with my intention to improve my workflow and get album designs complete and ready to print within a month of the wedding... that I actually did it!

Jessica and Mark's wedding was at Las Sendas in Mesa! Overlooking the city... this was a beautiful, beautiful wedding! We had such a great time!

Oh, how I love that I get to see this little boy grow up! This is session 3 from the Baby Love Sessions! I can't believe he is 3 months old already. I love that he is about the same age as Dylan (our little boy) - so it is SO fun to get to see John & Jenni and "Baby T" and compare stories! HE IS TO CUTE... enjoy some of the fun pictures! His Mommy came prepared with come cute props, so we had some fun!!

We did a sunset/night shoot - and I love the results... I HIGHLY recommend this time of day for portraits, it is magical!

We had the AMAZING opportunity to take our sons to the fire station where "Firefigher Eric" works! (Back story... Eric (of Jill & Eric, we had the pleasure of shooting their wedding in May 08) is an awesome client who hooked us up with a tour of the fire house, fire station... and most amazing of them all... THE FIRE TRUCK!! Aiden was floored, and Eric is still his hero! Here are some fun pictures from the day!

Wow, I can't beleive it's been two weeks since we went down to Tucson to document Courtney & Matt's wedding! They had an awesome wedding in the BEAUTIFUL backyard of a friend of theirs... they both are in the Military, and came from Alaska to get married in Tucson! It was a beautiful day - Courtney looked amazing in her GORGEOUS dress, and Matt looked awesome in his Blues! Thank you guys again for everything - it truly was an honor to document your day! We appreciate all you do for us and our country.

So, I am sitting here in my office working late (as usual... after kiddos go to bed... :), and Brandon comes in and tells me I "HAVE" to go outside to take a picture of the moon! Man... was he right, here is the picture for you! The moon was glowing beautifully between some storm clouds, and you get the light from lightning coming in from the side. Thought it was a beautiful reminder of nature. Better get to bed... we are looking forward to Courtney and Matthew's wedding in Tucson tomorrow!

CONGRATULATIONS KELSEY & GARTH!!!!

My wonderful, beautiful cousin just got married to an amazing guy named Garth! We had the privilege of being not only guests at the wedding, but hired as the photographers as well! It was so much fun... we got to hang out with the family and do what we love all at the same time! It was such a fun day... and everyone was so cool, the bridal party was awesome to work with - we got some amazing shots! Being in LA was wonderful... the weather was actually NICE outside at night where we got to enjoy the beautiful Descano Gardens where they had the party!

The ever so talented, Kim McDowell (The Event Essentials), contacted me a few weeks ago to ask a favor... her best friend (Alicia) is about to be proposed to by her boyfriend, and she was helping plan an AWESOME surprise for her! The scene... Villa Siena... Nick works at Villa Siena, and he told her that he needed to pick up his paycheck... meanwhile Kim and Alicia and Nick's close friends and family were hiding out watching the following...

We had the honor of documenting Reshma and Vinay's wedding over the July 4th weekend! It started out with Brandon covering the rehearsal dinner at the Val Vista Lakes clubhouse that Thursday night, and then on Saturday... the wedding!

And WOW... what a wedding! Reshma looked amazing in her wedding dress, the detail of it was stunning! The event took place at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, and man do they know how to throw a party! The reception was unreal, the cake was taller than me! The venue was beautifully decorated, a photographer's dream! They had wonderful guests... it truly was a night to remember! I did the first shoot in my new "BABY LOVE SESSIONS" with Jenni last weekend! We had a great time - her and John are SO creative and SO much fun! We had the opportunity to basically have the ASU art museum to ourselves early that Sunday morning, so she was all about being creative and fun! Which was a photographer's dream :) She makes such a cute Mommy, don't you agree?!! She is due about a month behind me - so our boys will be around the same age - which rocks!

We had the pleasure of heading out to Laveen (which is further east than Phoenix... just in case you aren't familiar with it - like me :), to photograph Rebecca and Jerome's new little guy (well - 6 months old), Luke! We had such a GREAT time with these guys! We shot their wedding about a year and half ago - and we were so honored they asked us back to document this new phase in their lives! It was incredible to see them, they are as much fun as we remember and they are AMAZING parents!! Luke has to be one of the CUTEST babies I have ever seen - and soooooo happy! Dorrie and Adrian's wedding

Saturday was Dorrie and Adrian's wedding... and all I can say is AWESOME! They were so much fun, and Dorrie's dress amazed me - I have never seen one like it! The wedding was beach casual, so everyone was laid back and relaxed... and we had such a great time with everyone.

Engagement shoot with Kim & Brian!

A great friend of mine, Kim and her fiance Brian (whom I just met at our shoot last weekend) are getting married in November! We are so stoked that they have asked us to shoot the wedding... we can't wait! After getting to spend a couple of hours hanging out and photographing them - I can just tell, this is one of those relationships that was destined to be! Congratulations you guys! Kim, I am SO excited for you - and we SO honored that you have asked us to shoot the wedding! It's going to be a blast!

An AWESOME engagement shoot!

We went out to shoot some engagment portraits of Melissa and Sal about 2 weeks ago, and here are some of my favorite images! We had SUCH a great time with them... we are so excited for the wedding in October. I think we managed to enjoy one of the last cool days in the Valley as well! It was such a fun morning - thanks guys! You make the best couple!!

Congrats Kristi & Brian!!

Last weekend, we had the honor of documenting Kristi $ Brian's wedding at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale... what a FANTASTIC day!! The night before, we went up to Greasewood Flats to shoot their rehearsal dinner... where about 70 of their closest friends and family arrived on a school bus (which I thought was AWESOME :), and we all hung out and ate dinner and we got some great shots in the process! Here are a few images from the rehearsal, and then some from the big day!!

Congratulations again guys, it was such a great day - we were so glad you asked us to be a part of it! You make an amazing couple! - S&B

The attire was amazing... I loved Kristi's dress, it was perfect for her!

And the guy's tux's were awesome as well...

The reception was beautiful - I loved the effect the lanterns had on the mood of the room!

Not usually an American Idol fan... but...

OK, I turned on the TV the other night, and came across American Idol (which I rarely watch past the entertaining audition portion of the show) and happen to catch David Cook's performance of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean! OK... now that was worth watching! Apparantley, Chris Cornell had done a revision of this song - and he did his version. Being a big Audioslave (and Chris Cornell) fan, I was surprised I had never heard it! Anyway - here it is for you all to check out! Plus, David Cook is from Brandon's home town of Blue Springs, MO - so we like him even more now :) Enjoy - let me know your thoughts!

We had a fantastic engagment shoot a couple of weeks ago with Dorrie and Adrian (their wedding is in May... we are SO excited!). We got this great shot of them and their dog Murphy, and Adrian had the idea to make it into something a little Andy Warhol style... GREAT idea! So - I put a little work into it - and came up with this, and thought I'd share it! Let me know what you think!

A cool engagement shoot!

Last Sunday, we had the opportunity to go out and shoot some engagement portraits for an old friend of mine from high school (man, that seems like a long time ago). So - here is the slide show from their shoot! We went to Old Main at ASU (GO DEVILS)... to get the look that seems so perfect for these guys!!

It was so great to see Bart, and Erinn is gorgeous - they made the shoot a BLAST. Thanks guys... and congratulations on the wedding - we are bummed we won't be able to shoot that for you as well! (They are getting married in San Diego, pretty much on our baby's due date... so that didn't work out to say the least :). We can't wait to see the wedding pictures! Congratulations!
